January 4, 2007 (Press Release) --
URSA currently offers seniors several valuable plan options that can include medical, dental, vision, hearing, prescription drug and chiropractic care savings, as well as estate and funeral planning, legal counseling and other services. Effective January 1, 2007, a grocery savings program, an automobile care & maintenance plan, a pet care savings program, and expanded legal services will be available to URSA members. All of these benefits will continue to be provided for a single nominal membership fee, and existing members will be given the option to either upgrade to the new benefit level or remain on their 2006 plan.
“We understand the specific needs of seniors today,” said URSA President Kathleen Paulson. “Many of our members are trying to make ends meet on a fixed income. Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security simply don’t always provide adequate benefits to help seniors meet basic health and wellness requirements, much less other needs like estate management, funeral planning and medical alert and medical air transportation services.”
URSA was formed in July of 2005 in response to the growing demand for supplemental benefits for seniors. “The aging of the U.S. population is obviously driving the need for more affordable senior-focused services. URSA understands this need, and we are working diligently to provide the most valuable savings options for our members,” added Paulson. URSA plans are currently sold via a network of agents and brokers, and will be available through online enrollment at www.myursa.com beginning this month.
